If you love "Gone with the Wind" and "Pride and Prejudice" you will love this place of luxury (it also serves as a bed). The carvings are timeless (back to "timeless" below) in their elegance. Ours is in a smallish guest bedroom where it evokes magnolias and afternoon tea.
The good news about the carvings: They are beautiful and are far superior to most "rice carved" examples in even upscale stores. The bad news is they really should be hand sanded--grove by groove--a couple of hours per piece.
Note that it is easy to add a flat canopy frame to this bed, which some may prefer to make a real statement in the room. Also, the bed disassembles easily (consider not gluing all the upper post joints) so you may transport it up even the most impossible staircase.
